Convention Center Improvements

Rapid Charging Stations • Attendees will have complimentary access to rapid charging stations located throughout the convention center. The charging stations are compatible with over 95% of mobile devices—including smartphones and iPads—and can deliver a full change in 10 minutes or less.

Digital Signage • LCD screens outside of each session room will deliver the most up-to-date and accurate session information available. The digital signs reflect last-minute changes and display the current and upcoming speakers, allowing attendees to tailor their session attendance to meet their professional needs and interests.
Interactive Locator Maps • Find your way with interactive touchscreen maps located throughout the convention center at the Annual Meeting. These 42” LCD screens use interactive, real-time touch technology to locate exhibitors, session rooms, or even dining options relative to your location in the convention center.  Detailed directions can then be e-mailed directly to your mobile device, iPad, or computer so you can get exactly where you intend to go.

Free WiFi • Meeting attendees with Wi-Fi compliant smartphones or laptops can access the Internet from anywhere in the convention center at no cost. Wi-Fi access is now available in all session rooms, public spaces, and the Oncology Professionals Hall. ASCO will continue to offer a Wi-Fi Zone in the North Building, Level 2.5 where wall outlets, power supplies, and technical assistance will be available to attendees.

Improved Food and Coffee Options • An increased number of drip-coffee locations, which offer non-specialty coffee, will be located throughout McCormick Place. Concession menus will offer increased variety, including more vegetarian options and health-conscious items. The lunch options in the Oncology Professionals Hall will also offer more food at a lower price. In fact, concession prices overall at McCormick Place have decreased by 20% from 2010. Attendees can expect more varied and more affordable options all-around.
